The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Title Update 1.4 Released

Recently, Nixxes released the latest Title Update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, bringing with it significant changes and optimisations for both Nvidia and AMD users. The update also includes numerous bug fixes for the game.

Main Changes

This update, Patch 1.4, significantly enhances graphics performance for both NVIDIA and AMD users in The Last of Us Part II Remastered. NVIDIA RTX GPU owners can now utilise DLSS 3.5’s new Transformer model for improved upscaling and visual quality, and RTX 50 series GPU users can enable Multi-Frame Generation directly in-game. For AMD users, the update resolves critical issues with FSR Frame Generation, specifically fixing problems with frame creation and ghosting, leading to better performance and visuals.

That’s not all if you by some chance are a user of an Intel GPU, there is also a treat for you too with there being changes to Intel XeSS upscaling, updating it to version 2.0.1. So you can now expect to have better  image quality and performance with it.

Bug Fixes

Other than the improvements to the GPU’s performance, patch 1.4 introduces a series of bug fixes primarily focused on enhancing the game’s visual fidelity and overall stability. Visual improvements address issues such as a missing material on a Seattle Downtown window that appeared walkable, inconsistent image quality on mirrors in The Farm, and an annoying flickering of hair, trees, and snow when Depth of Field was active. Additionally, a camera clipping bug in the Seraphites section, which allowed players to see unintended areas, has been resolved.

Beyond visual corrections, the patch also brings significant performance and stability enhancements. Texture loading has been improved, especially after players interact with objects, leading to faster and smoother rendering. Furthermore, general stability improvements have been implemented to reduce game crashes and improve overall performance on PC, although specific details regarding these changes were not provided.
