AOC AGON PRO AG276QZD 240Hz OLED Monitor Review

Display Analysis

OLED panels have quirks, and plenty of them, such as the first run I did with the calibration tool. It went mental, dimming the screen at random times, only by small amounts, but here are the terrible results.

To check everything was OK, I factory reset the monitor, and it ran absolutely fine.

The same with the Gamma, it dims when it hits a peak white, throwing off the results, so while the real-world performance honestly looks great, it’s near impossible to get a consistent reading from my sensor. It was noticeable with high contrast static images while I was using something like Photoshop, you would see the black level or white level flicker a little and adjust to protect the panel. However, watching a movie or gaming, these issues didn’t exist.

Gray ramp is nearly perfect though, extremely close to 6500K throughout, and while it looks wavey, this is one of the best results I’ve ever seen.

The monitor is incredibly colour accurate, I know this for an absolute fact. However, my testing software just sends it into a spin with the pixel shifting and dimming technologies tinkering on a level you can’t really see in normal usage, but the ultra-sensitive calibration tool can. I can turn these settings off, but honestly, they’re there for a reason and you’ll have them on for daily use.
