Sony Stops Selling Pulse 3D Headset for PS5, Fans Frustrated by Replacement
It seems that Sony has quietly stopped making and selling a specific PS5 accessory, replacing it with a more expensive and high-end model. PS5 owners are not too happy about this change.
Disappearing Pulse 3D Headset
Gamers first noticed that the Pulse 3D wireless headphones started disappearing from stores around six months ago. Now, they are no longer available on PS Direct either. Sony hasn’t officially announced that they stopped making the headset, but there have been reports from different areas saying that it’s no longer in stores.
The Pulse 3D headphones seem to have been replaced by the Pulse Elite, a newer model that works better but is also more expensive. Some players are frustrated by this change. One person shared on Reddit (thanks PlayStation Lifestyle): “I had Elites and Audeze Maxwell, and honestly, I returned to Pulse 3D due to great sound, comfort, and very light weight.” Another person said, “I wanted to get a second pair and it’s kinda unavailable in EU.”
Fans’ Frustration with Pulse Headset Disappearance
Many players are upset that the Pulse 3D headphones were removed without any warning. One user asked, “Why is no one talking about their Pulse headset just disappearing quietly?” Another complained, “I think this is a big deal especially since their other headset [Elite], is still not functioning properly,” referring to issues with frequent disconnections with the Elite model.
We’ll have to wait and see if Sony makes an official statement about this change.
