Player Backlash Forces Reversal of Annoying CoD Loadout Ads

It seems companies really can’t help it, can they? No matter how high their profits are and the never-ending year-on-year increase, there always has to be more. There always has to be a new Mount Everest to climb. With many triple-A games moving from $70 to $80, it seems Activision wants to take this a step further with Black Ops 6 that was already priced at around £70, which is roughly $94.56 and had microtransactions on top of that they have decided that they were going to inject ads into the game.
Season 4 brings new ad spot in game for weapons

In Season 4 of Black Ops 6, bundle ads were introduced within loadout screens, which players found virtually distracting. The ads themselves were promoting weapon blueprints, instead of customising their loadouts, leading to frustration among players.

These ads were embedded directly into the loadout screens and have been on the receiving end of a huge wave of criticism for obvious reasons. This has led the Steam reviews to tank on the game down to mostly negative on both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Many players argued that to be shown ads for content in a game they had already purchased was unfair and just straight up greedy.
Thankfully, this fierce backlash has caused Activision to backtrack and remove the ads that appeared in-game. Then, Activision is like the slimy, spinless corporation; they claim that these loadout ads were a mistake and not intended to be a permanent change.
Where to Buy a Good Call of Duty
If you are looking to reminisce on the good ‘ol days of CoD, you’re in luck, with basically all of the Call of Duty games currently enjoying a massive sale right now, lowering the price across the board. You can find them all here on Steam, and although not the most popular when it came out, CoD Ghosts remains one of my all-time favourites, and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
