Call of Duty Ads in Menus Were a Mistake and Have Been Removed
A recent change in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Warzone, introduced with Season 4, added ads inside the game that appeared in some menus and couldn’t be removed. Fans quickly expressed their displeasure, especially since Activision had not announced this change beforehand.
However, the ads have now been removed, and Activision shared a message on social media explaining that it was all a mistake. These ads were not supposed to appear in Call of Duty games.
What Did Activision Say About the Ads in Call of Duty?
Through Twitter, the official “Call of Duty Updates” account posted the following message: “A UI feature test that surfaced select store content in the Loadout menus was published in the Season 04 update in error. This feature has now been removed from the live game.”
As you can imagine, many players don’t believe this explanation and think that Activision simply released the ads secretly, watched the reactions, and then decided to take them out after seeing that players were not happy with the change.
Of course, the real reason behind the scenes remains unclear, but at least Call of Duty fans can be happy that this update is no longer part of the game.
